Cell Signaling Technology (CST) seeks a talented Automation Specialist who is excited by the vision CST has for scaling its antibody discovery and validation processes. The Automation Specialist should be motivated by the challenge of scaling and improving the efficiency of our core pipelines. The role offers an opportunity to lead a small team that serves as a centralized resource for automation. You will be responsible for working with scientists across CST to identify opportunities and to develop integrated, automated workflow solutions that will improve sample handling, data flow and the scale of their processes. In addition, you will support and maintain existing robotic instrumentation, validate and QC automated protocols, and train users on workflows and best practices. Lab Assistants provide vital data to the Antibody Discovery teams which drives validation efforts and streamlines product releases. Working under a team leader, they execute centralized workflows utilizing western blot, immunoprecipitation, and related techniques to deliver consistent, high quality results. The position includes the assessment of antibody performance and utility in selected assays, preparing samples for collaboration efforts, organizing and inventorying lysates and other laboratory materials, and queue management. Lab Assistants may also coordinate the testing of other commercialization efforts including workflow solutions, assay kits, and sourced materials.

This position reports to the CSO and leads a fantastic department of around 20 data scientists, data engineers, software developers, and computational biologists. This department plays a key role in antibody research, omics research, scientific initiatives including PhosphoSitePlus, target selection and CST’s data-driven focus on providing actionable analytics and insight to key business questions related to CST products, customers, and business strategy.
