Position Summary

Cell Signaling Technology Europe B.V. (CST) is currently looking for a Scientific Sales & Technical Support Specialist for our European Headquarters in Leiden (NL). This new and dynamic department started a year ago and has been booking great successes during this period. As a Scientific Sales & Technical Support Specialist you will be contacting your own portfolio of customers to see how you can help them progress in their research, and be responsible for achieving or exceeding the set revenue goals through a consultative selling approach.

 

Besides searching for new leads and building a long-lasting relationship with existing customers you will also be supporting researchers in the middle of their quest, who have in-depth questions about our products and need your expertise and help to be able to continue. This combination of both sales activities and technical support of customers makes this position an unique and diverse challenge for someone who enjoys working in a small team that focuses each day on getting the best service for our customers.

Responsibilities

What are you going to do?

  • To identify, evaluate and execute opportunities to supply products to both existing and prospective customers
  • To conduct outbound calls with new and existing customers to maintain relationship and revenue, increase awareness of our product offering, and close additional sales by cross and upselling
  • To cooperate closely with the direct sales teams to identify and qualify leads, prospects, and incoming inquires that fit our strategic objectives and convert them into business
  • To execute an account mapping strategy to identify the key players within each account
  • To handle OTS price requests, handle bulk + custom pricing requests and sample requests
  • Align with global and European marketing activities and price promotions to proactively target customers and drive revenue from existing and new products
  • To create and maintain customer records within our CRM systems to track customer contacts, preferences, and other key data
  • To embrace industry practices and utilize appropriate business tools to drive results 
  • Works effectively in an intradepartmental environment to ensure transparency of information and cooperation among departments
  • To provide excellent application and technical product support to customers, distributors and colleagues in a timely manner
  • To serve as a reference for pathway and target selection, experimental design, generation of controls and aid with the differentiation of results to register and maintain all technical cases in our CRM system
  • Willingness to travel to join regional team meetings, join customer visits or attend trainings (max 5%)

Qualifications

What would we like you to bring to the table?

  • Master in Cell Biology, Immunology or similar
  • Good understanding of relevant applications, workflows, and products
  • Ideally past sales experience in Life Science market
  • Experience in an international environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English both in word and writing; German, Dutch and/or French are a plus
  • Good understanding of MS Office, knowledge of SFDC and Oracle are a plus
