    Position Summary

    Note: This is a part-time 6-month contract position.  Hours will vary with workload.

     

    The datasheet editor contractor will support the product release process by editing product datasheets for scientific accuracy, consistency and clarity. The contractor will report to the Marketing Project Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Work as a member of project team to conceptualize, review and edit datasheets for an audience of biomedical research scientists
    • Review and edit text to ensure it is well written and logically structured
    • Correct grammar and spelling
    • Ensure compliance with trademark and copyright guidelines and discuss them with the developer/writer, when necessary

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism or other related field.
    • 5+ years of experience copy editing, including experience with instructional editing
    • Proficiency in written English (e.g., spelling and grammar)

    Prefered Skills/Experience:

    • AMA guideline experience
    • General knowledge of biomedical science
    • Working knowledge of copyright and trademark regulations
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks, with limited supervision, in a high-volume, fast-paced environment that requires meeting time-sensitive deadlines
