    Position Summary

    CST is searching for a dynamic, customer-focused Account Manager with a proven track record of success in the Biotech industry.  The successful Account Manager will achieve or exceed revenue goals by employing a defined sales methodology for off-the-shelf products, bulk products, and eligible services with customers, primarily biotech industry accounts, in the greater Boston area of Massachusetts.

    Responsibilities

    • Grow geographic and account sales volumes
    • Maintain an effective time and territory management plan
    • Develop and implement strategic and tactical territory business plans that result in increased customer contact and achieve above market growth rates and increased market share
    • Execute an account “mapping” strategy to identify the key players within each account
    • Network within designated accounts to fully understand customer needs
    • Promote and position CST products and services to customers
    • Monitor sales growth and new opportunities within designated accounts
    • Develop consultative relationships with customers to understand scientific details of customer’s application, product requirements, and purchasing motivations in order to influence product choices
    • Continuously maintain and grow pipeline by identifying prospects, qualifying leads, creating proposals, and closing business
    • Work with technical staff to provide information or solutions to complex customer requests and inquiries
    • Communicate information gathered during customer visits to sales management and marketing with feedback to include growing application areas, catalog product ideas, market intelligence, and general customer feedback
    • Maintain customer information in Salesforce.com CRM tool
    • Provide weekly updates to opportunity funnel and forecast
    • Maintain healthy funnel management through continual prospecting efforts
    • Participate in trade shows and networking events to improve company visibility, overall market share, and profitability
    • Utilize sales and support resources effectively

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Biological Sciences
    • 1-2 years of laboratory experience working with antibody applications, preferably Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence (IF), and Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP)
    • 1-2 years of reagent selling experience in life science market space, preferably with antibody solutions
    • Proven sales achievement/track record
    • Computer proficiency with ability to use Microsoft Office products, Salesforce.com, or similar programs

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    • Master’s or Doctorate degree, preferably in Biological Sciences
    • 2+ years of laboratory experience working with antibody applications, preferably Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence (IF), and Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP)
    • 2+ years of reagent selling experience in life science market space, preferably with antibody solutions
    • Preference will be given to individuals having experience and working knowledge of antibody applications
    • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
    • Must have strong time management skills and ability to multitask
    • Ability to work in a complex sales environment
    • Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with cross-functional partners and customers
    • Ability to manage high volume of communications (email, phone, and in person)
