    Position Summary

    Our Proteomics group is searching for a highly motivated Senior Research Associate  to join their team.  This role will support KinomeView western blotting and PTMScan mass spectrometry fee-for service projects, PTM antibody development projects and mass spectrometry-based proteomics method development.


    • Independently process and prepare testing and validation samples for LCMS analysis using previously established protocols for both internal and external customers
    • Perform experiments including KinomeView western blotting screens and LICOR imaging for service clients with consistent, high figure quality, reproducible results within established timelines
    • Perform standard biochemical assays such as western blot and ELISA
    • Perform routine mammalian cell culture and tissue processing
    • Proactively troubleshoot experimental plans and results to ensure effective handling and use of customer samples
    • Effectively summarize and communicate results of testing to project scientists directly and/or thorugh Powerpoint presentations
    • Successfully manage multiple projects at one time to ensure completion of tasks within service level agreement expectations
    • Lead organization and tracking of lab supplies and inventory for team
    • Responsible for following established protocols for all laboratory practices
    • Maintain accurate and complete hard copy and electronic laboratory documentation in appropriate systems (e.g. notebooks, electronic LIMS, JIRA, PDP, PLM, etc.) in accordance with CST quality systems requirements
    • Expected to continuously seek, champion, and evaluate techniques and technological opportunities that will improve quality, efficiency, or scalability for the team


    Required Skills/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a biological science (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology)
    • 3+ years' experience in a laboratory environment
    • Previous experience with western blotting systems and mammalian cell culture
    • Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of MS Office and Google suites (or related) applications

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    • Experience in mass spectrometry based proteomics
    • LICOR experience
    • Exposure to LCMS methods and principles
    • Strong communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to work in a team environment and externally with customers
    • Strong organizational skills and record keeping
    • Enthusiastic, motivated, with good interpersonal skills
