    Position Summary

    The Tissue Culture Core (TCC) team is searching for a Research Associate to join it's fast-paced team.  The mission of the TCC is to maintain a reliable cell line bank and to generate high quality lysates for the CST Production department.

    Responsibilities

    • Establish and maintain an accurate inventory of cell lines
    • Practice good sterile technique to ensure that cells are free of mycoplasma and other forms of contamination
    • Conduct periodic cleaning and decontamination of Tissue Culture Core lab and quarterly cleaning of biosafety cabinets
    • Provide cells and lysates to Production Department members according to established service level agreements
    • Prepare and maintain an inventory of commonly used lysates
    • Maintain hard copy and electronic laboratory documentation in appropriate systems (e.g. notebooks, CoreLIMS, JIRA, etc.) in accordance with CST quality systems requirements
    • Follow established protocols for all practices including the culturing of cell lines, lysate preparation, and documentation
    • Safely work with chemical modulators for cell treatments
    • Continuously seek, champion, and evaluate techniques and technological opportunities that will improve quality, efficiency, or scalability of cell culture

    Qualifications

    Required Skills/Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in a biological science (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology)
    • 1+ years of post-graduate laboratory experience
    • Computer proficiency including working knowledge of MS Office and Google suites (or related) applications

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    • Hands-on Cell Culture experience
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with laboratory information management systems
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Team-oriented mindset
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
    • Basic knowledge of signal transduction cascades
